As part of the joint coordination for the implementation of the Water Services Improvement Project at Marib General Hospital, a coordination meeting was held between King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Marib Governorate and Yamany Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Works (YDH).
The meeting was attended by Dr. Lutfi Al-Ghubari and Ms. Radiyah Al-Najjar from KSrelief, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Akwa’a and Dr. Anas Saif representing Yamany Foundation.
During the meeting, participants discussed the technical and administrative aspects of the project’s implementation, including fieldwork phases and mechanisms to ensure the achievement of the project’s goal of providing safe and sustainable water services for the hospital.
The project includes the rehabilitation of an existing well, drilling of a new well, construction of a new elevated water tank, rehabilitation of the existing tank, and establishment of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plant with a production capacity of 20,000 liters per hour.
The project aims to ensure sustainable and safe water services at Marib General Hospital by improving existing water sources and establishing new, high-quality systems. It also seeks to enhance the hospital’s capacity for water treatment and desalination, thereby improving healthcare quality, reducing infection risks, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and medical staff—especially amid the rapid population growth resulting from ongoing displacement.
