Direct Aid Association – Yemen Office and Yamany Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Works (YDH) start the Iftar Project (distribution of food baskets to beneficiaries in Aden governorate, Al-Buraiqeh Directorate).

As a initial stage, 400 food baskets were distributed to benefit IDPs. families.

In a statement to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Mr. Saleh Mahmoud, that the Ministry of Affairs is not surprised by this great support from the friends of Kuwait, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, which has come to families who are in need of such humanitarian interventions.

Director of Aden Unit of the Direct Aid Office, Dr. Aiman Zabara, added that this project comes in partnership with Yamany Foundation (YDH) and funded by donor support from Kuwait, in order to target families who are in a difficult situation especially during the holy month of Ramadan. As the project targets 1,200 families with 1,200 food baskets, between a host community and IDPs, as the food baskets will alleviate the suffering of these families.

The Director of Programs and Projects at the Yamani Foundation, Dr. Anas Saif, confirmed that this project will fulfill many of Ramadan needs of families, indicating that this comes within the framework and efforts of the Foundation to meet the needs of the most vulnerable families in light of the deteriorating economic situation as a result of the humanitarian crisis that the country has been going through for years.

Dr. Anas Saif also confirmed that next Sunday, March 24, Ramadan 14, the second phase of the project will be started by distributing 800 food baskets, which are expected to benefit about 5,600 individuals.
