The Foundation participated in the humanitarian axis of the COP28 climate conference in the United Arab Emirates, where it showcased its experiences and expertise in inclusive education aimed at empowering children with disabilities. The Foundation highlighted its efforts and initiatives in this field, emphasizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for education and supporting the rights of children with disabilities.
The Foundation worked to provide high-quality and integrated education that encompasses academic and health aspects. Moreover, it focused on ensuring equal educational opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities, with a commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity.
During the event organized by the Foundation on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Humanitarian Center of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Green Zone in Dubai, a video was presented on the project to responding to the needs of local capacity development for illiterate students and individuals with disabilities, funded by KSRelief, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, as the first project of its kind in Yemen.
The video included experiences and success stories of disabled students who greatly benefited from the diverse range of programs and activities offered by the project. Additionally, it included interviews with parents of disabled individuals who passionately shared the transformative impact the project had on their own lives and the lives of their children with disabilities.
The Head of External Relations at the Foundation, Ms. Mayada Al-Alwani, emphasized that these global events are an effective means to share acquired experiences and knowledge and raise awareness about the importance of inclusive education and empowering children and people with disabilities.
Numerous representatives from local, regional, and international organizations were present at the event, as well as distinguished individuals participating in the climate conference from various countries.
