King Salman Center (KSRelief) Visits the Psychological Support Sessions in Al-Mahra Governorate as Part of the Orphans Sponsorship and Economic Empowerment Project Phase II

Mr. Ali Al-Mutairi, Deputy Director of the Office of King Salman Center (KSRelief) works, visited Al-Mahra Governorate, Mr. Salem Al-Saqqaf, Relief Coordinator at the center’s branch, Mr. Salem Awadh, Director General of the Al-Ghaydah Directorate, and Dr. Murad bin Aqil, Health Coordinator at the center’s branch, as part of the second phase of the orphans ‘ sponsorship and economic empowerment project implemented by Yamany Foundation (YDH).

This visit aims to follow up the activity of the psychological support sessions that provide psychological support to caregivers of orphans, and enhance their abilities to face psychological and social challenges.

Awareness-raising and training sessions aimed at improving the mental health of beneficiaries were visited, in addition to providing them with the necessary support to achieve psychological and social stability.

It is noteworthy that the orphans’ sponsorship and economic empowerment project aims to provide comprehensive care for orphans, including psychological and social support, and provide economic opportunities that contribute to improving their standard of living and make them self-reliant.
It also targeted the sponsorship of 1,300 male and female orphans and the empowerment of 440 families supporting orphans in eight Yemeni governorates (Aden, Lahj, Marib, Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, Al-Hudaydah, Taiz and Al-Jawf) with several activities:
– The monthly cash sponsorships for health, living and education, benefiting 1,300 orphans
– The distributing of school bags benefits 1,300 orphans
– And a capacity-building building activity that benefits 1,300 family breadwinners
– The economic empowerment activity, where the project benefits 440 families in various fields
– The individual and group psychological support activity that benefits 1,740 orphans and caregivers.
