Ministers Kalshat and Al-Bakri Review Progress of Training Activities under the “Aghnohom” Economic Empowerment Project

The Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Anwar Kalshat, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri, today reviewed the progress of the training and capacity-building activities in Small Business Management under the “Aghnohom” project, implemented by the Yamany Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Work (YDH) with funding from the Direct Aid Society –
The project, implemented for two groups, aims to train and qualify 61 male and female trainees, who will establish 47 small businesses, while also providing them with the necessary professional toolkits to enable them to launch their own enterprises.
During the visit, Ministers Kalshat and Al-Bakri commended the efforts made in implementing the training and capacity-building programmes, affirming that technical and vocational training is a fundamental pillar of economic empowerment and an effective means of creating sustainable employment opportunities for young people, thereby improving their livelihoods and facilitating their integration into the labour market.
The two ministers also praised the vital role played by the Direct Aid Society in supporting and funding economic empowerment and development projects in Yemen, while commending the efforts of the Yamany Foundation in equipping young people with the skills and competencies needed to enhance their professional capabilities.
For his part, Issa Mohammed Qabool, Executive Director of the Yamany Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Work, stated that the Foundation places great importance on economic empowerment programmes, emphasizing its commitment to equipping young people with the knowledge and skills required to manage their businesses efficiently, ensuring their sustainability and maximizing their positive impact on improving beneficiaries’ livelihoods. He also expressed his appreciation to the two ministers for their visit, noting that it served as a strong source of motivation for both the trainees and the project team.
