Vice-CEO of Yamany Foundation (YDH) Meets Deputy Governor and Secretary-General of Abyan Local Council to Discuss Humanitarian and Development Interventions in the Governorate

 

Abyan – On Wednesday, Mr. Mohammed Darman, Vice-CEO of Yamany Foundation (YDH), met in the capital of Abyan Governorate, Zinjibar, with Mr. Mahdi Mohammed Al-Hamed, Deputy Governor of Abyan and Secretary-General of the Local Council. The meeting focused on discussing the Foundation’s current and future interventions in the governorate.

During the meeting, the key areas of intervention undertaken by Yamany Foundation in Abyan were reviewed. Mr. Al-Hamed praised the Foundation’s significant humanitarian role in its past projects, particularly the initiative funded generously by King Salman Center (KSRelief). This project targeted people with disabilities and literacy challenges, yielding a tangible positive impact on the lives of its beneficiaries.

The meeting also addressed the details of the project titled “300,000 Food Baskets for a Safer Future in Yemen” for the years 2025–2026. The project covers 6 Yemeni governorates, including Abyan, and targets needy families, individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities, as well as internally displaced persons living in public camps. In Abyan, the project will be implemented in three main districts: Al-Mahfad, Mudiyah, and Jayshan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Al-Hamed expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for its humanitarian efforts through its local partner, Yamany Foundation. He emphasized the urgent need for more interventions in the governorate given the difficult conditions it faces, particularly in terms of poverty and basic services.

He also reaffirmed the local authority’s readiness to provide all necessary facilitation and overcome any challenges facing supporting entities and organizations, in order to improve the living and humanitarian conditions of the people of Abyan Governorate.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Osama Sameeh, the Project Officer for Abyan Governorate.
