Yamany Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Works ( YDH ):
YDH is working all Over Yemen since 2013, with license No (216), in both Emergency Relief and Development including Education, Health Child protection, Food, and WASH funded by various donors. In close coordination with its partners, YDH is implementing a new response to the needs of developing local capacities to literacy and Special Education Project, in Aden, Abyan and Hadhramaut.
Job Purpose:
YDH is seeking a proactive Project Manager (PM) to lead YDH project located, in Aden with frequent visits to , Abyan and Hadhramaut for following up, providing support, monitoring and evaluation. The PM will responsible for ensuring but not limited to the following key points:
- Maintaining well coordination with all stakeholders for achieving the project intended results.
- High quality project management including effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to ensure quality achievement of the project goals.
- Reporting and compliance in accordance with YDH polices and donor rules and regulations,
- Representing YDH at key cluster working groups meetings, working groups, government authorities and in established events
Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Implementation
- Lead the project planning, implementation and monitoring of the project on day-today basis
- Ensure project detailed work plan is up to date and regularly reviewed and all project staff are aware of project activities, outputs, and deliverables
- Oversee timely expenditure of approved budgets, avoiding both underspending and overspending.
- In coordination with the media focal point, support content gathering visits to project activities/events, to collect high quality case studies, photos, stories as appropriate and needed
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation plans and to capture learning opportunities.
- Ensure training, compliance, and adherence to program sector SOPs i.e., targeting, selection and verification criteria
- Actively participate in weekly management and other team meetings held in the field
- People Management and Leadership
- Provide overall leadership for the project team to set expectations, work plans and performance objectives in order to achieve the project objectives.
- Responsible for the timely recruitment, orientation, and training of project staff as needed.
- Ensure that all expenditure is in line with project budget/forecast, and that transactions and documentation comply with YDH policies, procedures, and minimum standards.
- Carry out regular budget monitoring and forecasting to ensure spend within the agreed budget parameters.
- Work with Field Team to ensure close and effective coordination is in place with all related actors
Representation
- The PM will also ensure consistent, regular, and high-quality communication with the donor key representatives in the country.
- Maintain good working relationships with officials and other humanitarian actors, particularly those within the relevant government agencies (local and national authorities including technical line ministries), INGOs, NGOs, UN agencies and with visiting donor and third party monitoring teams.
- Represent YDH at sub cluster working groups, coordination meetings as well during other stakeholder meetings (if relevant), and maintain a positive, continuous, and visible presence for YDH.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- When security permits, undertake regular visits to field sites to assess project sites and ongoing implementation, provide monitoring, feedback, support and guidance.
- Work with M&E responsible to develop plans and tools, and ensure the project is monitored against appropriate and measurable indicators.
- Ensure that project risks mitigations are in place and regularly monitored to avoid, corruption, diversion or other harm in line with YDH policies and standards
- Coordinate with security responsible to maintain situational awareness in the projects locations and ensure safety and security measures are followed as per YDH safety and security standards
Reporting
- Ensure timely and high-quality reporting on project achievements and challenges on monthly, quarterly, interim, and final schedules
- Prepare ad hoc progress reporting for the donor and other key stakeholders as required
- Perform any other Tasks as required by the line supervisor
Qualification Experience and Skills:
- Degree in development, Education, or protection), or related field is required.
- At least 3 years’ experience working in integrated project management
- Very good command of English and Arabic
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast pace environment
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
DESIRABLE
- Experience with recognized INGO/ NGO will be an added advantage.
